Hello my name is Lena, I am 29 years old. I am a brave, courageous, passionate and full of faith young woman. I was born in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo and I moved to Cape Town / South Africa in 2006. As a child, I was mostly between school and hospital. At only 9 months old, I was diagnosed with a chronic disease called sickle cell anemia which caused me several seizures and 3 severe strokes, the first at the age of 9, the second at 11 and the third at 17. . which made me lose the functionality of my legs and paralyzed my entire right side. My whole family then left the Democratic Republic of the Congo for Cape Town to receive treatment and receive appropriate medical care. Whatever my difficult and painful situation, I have never given up on life and I have maintained my love and my faith for God in whom I place all my hope.
